“After giving birth to our twins, I hoped my husband would finally start choosing us over his mother — but he didn’t. This time, he chose her one last time… so I exposed her lies and cruelty.”
Coming home with newborn twins should’ve been one of the happiest days of my life — and at first, it was. But it quickly turned into a nightmare I never expected.
After exhausting labor and three days in the hospital, I was discharged and ready to go home with my beautiful girls, Ella and Sophie. I imagined Derek picking us up with flowers, tears of joy in his eyes.
Instead, I received a call that shattered everything.
He said his mother was suddenly ill — chest pain — and he had to take her to the hospital. I was stunned. No ride. No help. I took a taxi home alone with our newborns.
But when I arrived… my bags were on the lawn. The door was locked. A note stuck to my suitcase read:
“Get out with your little freeloaders. I know everything. —Derek”

I couldn’t breathe. The man who once held my hand at every appointment — who cried hearing our babies’ heartbeats — was gone.
Turns out, his mother faked her illness. Lied. Took his phone. Kicked me out. Why? Because I gave birth to girls, not boys.
I confronted her. She didn’t even deny it. Said I “failed” the family by not giving them a son.
I went straight to Derek. When he heard everything, he was furious. He kicked her out of our lives for good.
Now, we are healing. Derek changed the locks, blocked her number, and filed a complaint.
She tried to destroy us — but only made us stronger.
We’re a real family now. And we’re moving forward — together.
