She used to wake us up early and ruin our weekends: I decided to teach her a tough lesson.
She used to come on weekdays, but now she had moved her visits to weekends.
When my husband told me, I was upset:

— So now we can’t even sleep in on the weekend?
— Why would you say that? — he grumbled.
— Because she always woke us up on weekdays! It’ll be worse on weekends!
He just laughed. Bad idea.
Friday, she arrived. Saturday morning at 6:45 I woke to the noise in the kitchen.
Then she walked in without knocking:
— Still asleep? It’s nearly 7. Time to get up…
— Excuse me, don’t we have the right to sleep on weekends? — I asked, annoyed. — Please leave our room.
— You’re a wife and a mother. You should be the first one up, preparing breakfast — she scolded.
— So, as a wife and mother I can’t sleep, but my husband and child can? — I snapped.
She sniffed and walked away.

Same thing happened the next day.
All week, I thought about how to teach her a lesson.
On Monday, I got an idea. I waited for her next visit.

Friday night she came again. I was sweeter than ever.
When she went to bed at 9 p.m., I turned the TV up to maximum volume.
She rushed in, horrified:
— Are you insane?! Do you know what time it is?!
— We’re allowed to make noise until 10 — I replied calmly.
— But I’m already sleeping!
— Please don’t disturb me.

She stood in front of the screen and said sternly:
— Show some respect! I need my sleep!
— Then go to bed later, and you won’t wake up at 6 — I answered. — That’s what you do to us every Saturday!
— Is this revenge?!
— You could say that — I said calmly.
I kept the volume up until 10. The next morning: silence.
My husband and I slept until 11. Victory!
