The story took place in Cairns, Australia, in the Svilicic family. The couple had a two-year-old daughter. Recently, they decided they wanted a pet. During a visit to the animal shelter, they met an adult Doberman named Khan. The poor dog had been abandoned by his previous owners, and Catherine and her husband took him in without hesitation.
Just four days later, something happened that forever changed how they viewed their new pet…
That day, the Doberman was playing in the garden with the couple’s daughter, Charlotte. Everything seemed fine — the dog appeared to get along well with the little girl. But suddenly, he bared his teeth, started growling, grabbed the child by her diaper, and jumped to the side. The frightened mother rushed to help her daughter — only to realize that the dog wasn’t attacking, he was protecting!
Right where the little girl had been playing just seconds earlier, a dangerous venomous snake had slithered in.
The brave dog had reacted just in time to save Charlotte. Unfortunately, the snake managed to bite him. The girl was completely unharmed, and the vet arrived in time to treat Khan. He received the antivenom and recovered quickly.
The family is endlessly grateful to their new four-legged hero.
