A woman had been dating her boyfriend for several months when she noticed that every time they went out to eat, he “forgot” his credit card. After a while, she got fed up with the situation and decided to act according to her feelings.
This 32-year-old woman had been seeing her 39-year-old boyfriend, who had two young children, for nine months when they got into a major argument over his repeated behavior toward her.

The woman turned to Reddit to ask whether she had been wrong to react as she did. Internet users shared their opinions on the situation and commented on what they thought of her boyfriend.
She was concerned about the way she acted because she had done it in front of her boyfriend’s children, and he told her she was selfish for not thinking about them.
She explained that her boyfriend’s children enjoy going to restaurants, which is why they went out once a week. However, every time they went, her boyfriend would “accidentally” leave his wallet at home.
Each time he forgot his card, she ended up paying the bill. At first, it didn’t bother her, but according to her, she had ended up with little money after paying for many dinners the previous month.
One evening, the woman had just received her paycheck from a second job, and she and her boyfriend were going out to dinner again with his children. Knowing he often “forgot” his wallet, she sent him a message to remind him to bring it. Her boyfriend laughed at the reminder.

When they arrived at the restaurant, her boyfriend’s children ordered many new dishes from the menu, which were quite expensive according to the woman.
Before they started eating, she asked her boyfriend where his wallet was, to make sure he hadn’t forgotten it this time. When she asked, he looked shocked, searched his pockets, and after a moment, said sheepishly, “I must have left it in the other pair of jeans I planned to wear.”
He asked her if she could pay for dinner this time, but the woman had had enough: she grabbed her things and got up to leave without even eating.
When her boyfriend saw she was about to leave, he asked for an explanation and where she was going. She told him she was not willing to pay again for him and his children, then left the restaurant.
Later, her boyfriend called and told her she was selfish for leaving him and his children in that situation. The woman responded that she would no longer pay for them every time they went out, as she felt it was unfair.

The man shouted that he had forgotten his wallet and that she had shown no compassion for him or his children. He added that he would have to cancel the food order and bring the hungry children home, as he couldn’t afford to pay.
The couple argued, and her boyfriend told her she needed to reconsider her attitude toward his children. He repeated that she was willing to let them go hungry out of pure selfishness.
