My daughter appeared in a black dress on her wedding day, and when we found out why, we were speechless.
When my daughter announced that she was going to get married, she was overflowing with joy. For several months, we carefully planned everything, because she wanted everything to be perfect.

The most difficult choice was the wedding dress. We spent weeks looking for the ideal dress, but none of them really suited her. Finally, she decided that the best solution would be to have one custom-made.
I have a friend, a talented seamstress, who agreed to help us. My daughter chose the fabric, and in a week, the dress was ready.
When the big day arrived, I was eager to see her in her wedding dress. But to our surprise, she appeared in a black dress.
Even in this unexpected outfit, she was stunning, but my husband and I looked at each other, bewildered, not understanding what was happening.
Then, in front of the altar, my daughter turned to the guests. What she said next left everyone speechless.
“The ceremony will not take place,” she declared in a calm but firm voice.
“I discovered that Jack betrayed me. Yes, I was hurt, but I understood one essential thing: I don’t want to start my life on a lie. Today, I choose self-respect and truth.”

Without hesitation, she removed her ring, placed it on the table, and then left the room with her head held high, with a dignified step.
In the car, silence reigned.
Then, she turned to me and said, “Mom, I won’t shed a tear. I finally feel free.” That day, I understood that this black dress wasn’t a symbol of sadness, but of rebirth.
My daughter hadn’t chosen black to mark the end of a story, but to announce the beginning of a new life, one filled with strength and truth.
