An eagle was standing in front of our door, as if asking for help. When I followed it with my dog, what I discovered left me speechless.
One morning, when I called my dog to go for a walk, he didn’t come. Worried, I went to look for him, and that’s when I saw him, there in front of the back door. On the other side of the glass, an eagle was watching him intently.
At first, I didn’t know how to react. I stood there, watching, for a few minutes. The eagle didn’t seem aggressive at all; it simply stared at us. Then, slowly, it moved away from the door, but didn’t stop watching us. I decided to open the door. My dog and I went out into the yard.
The eagle moved a little further away, but it continued to watch us, turning its head from time to time to make sure we were following it. Curious to know where it was leading us, I followed. Little by little, we moved further from the house, and the eagle kept checking that we hadn’t lost its trail.
We were already far away, deep in the forest, when the eagle stopped. It turned toward us, as if to say we had arrived at our destination.
What I saw then literally left me speechless…
It seemed exhausted and unable to free itself.
I didn’t hesitate for a second.
I reached out and helped the eagle out of the mud.
I gently carried it to the house, where I placed it in a large tub of warm water to clean it.
After a long bath, he regained some energy.
Once dry, I led him to the other eagle, who was waiting for him in the yard.
Since that day, they sometimes come to play in our yard with my dog before flying off again.
