The boy in the class became the target of ridicule from the teacher and his classmates, but what happened a few minutes later silenced everyone.

LIFE STORIES

During class at school, everyone made fun of the boy, but no one could have imagined what would soon happen to them.

The 11-year-old boy became the target of ridicule from the teacher and his classmates—they called him “inventor.”

The classmates knew almost nothing about him: his clothes were always old, and even during recess, he stayed alone.

That day, the teacher entered the classroom and, instead of class, decided to talk to the children about their parents’ professions.

One said, “My mother is a lawyer,” another, “My father runs a computer company,” and the boy fell silent and didn’t answer the question. The teacher asked him again where his parents worked, and the boy replied that his parents didn’t.

Laughter instantly spread through the class. Everyone began to mock the boy, even the teacher laughed, adding, “That’s why you always come to school in old, worn-out clothes.”

The boy began to cry because of the teacher’s words and the laughter of his classmates, and they laughed louder and louder. But soon, the classroom door opened, a man entered the room, saw this scene, and what happened the next minute shocked everyone.

The door to the room burst open, and a tall man in a formal uniform entered the classroom. His gaze quickly swept over all the students, and silence fell instantly.

He approached the boy and, ignoring the laughter, said in a calm, collected voice, “Marcus, I came to get your notebook, which you left in the car.”

The teacher froze, not understanding what was happening. Some classmates couldn’t hide their surprise; their laughter suddenly faded. The man placed his hand on the boy’s shoulder and nodded, as if to confirm what he had said earlier.

Marcus looked up—for the first time in a long time, his voice wasn’t trembling—and his gaze met his father’s. The teacher quickly took a step back, struggling to find her words.

“Of course, Commander Jenkins… we were just talking about… the parents’ professions,” she said softly.

Commander Jenkins smiled slightly and nodded briefly to the class audience. “It’s important for children to be proud of those who raise them,” he added, and picking up the notebook, he turned toward the door.

Marcus remained motionless, feeling that something in the classroom had changed forever. The laughter no longer echoed, and the curious glances of his classmates were filled with respect and silent surprise.
