After I found out I had a serious illness, my husband filed for divorce and left me for another woman: but after a few months, something unexpected happened 😲😲

I had a happy life: a loving husband, a family, a good job. I thought that only joy and a future lay ahead of us. But one day my whole world collapsed. The doctor, in a quiet but cold voice, gave me the diagnosis – lung cancer.

For a young woman who still had everything ahead of her, it sounded like a death sentence. But I tried to accept it and come to terms with it. It seemed to me that I could do it because my husband was there. He said that he loved me, that he would support me in the most difficult days.

The first months were really like that – he held my hand, reassured me, brought me flowers. I believed him and lived by this belief.

But gradually something changed. I began to notice how he distanced himself: he stayed at work late into the night more and more often, avoided conversations, and was home less and less. And at one point I was left alone with my pain. I didn’t blame him – not everyone can endure such a life. I just kept fighting for the two of us.

And then I found out that he had another woman. I accepted that too. After all, I really couldn’t give him anything.

But then the worst happened. The doctors said that surgery was necessary. My last chance. But the risks were huge – I might just not wake up.

I was lying in the pre-operative room when my husband came in. He had some papers in his hands.

ā€œWe need to talk,ā€ he said in a cold voice.

ā€œIt can wait,ā€ I tried to smile. ā€œThe doctor said not to worry.ā€

— No. I have to tell you now. I’m tired of waiting.

— Okay, I’m listening.

— These are the divorce papers.

I looked at him and couldn’t believe my ears.

— Seriously? Couldn’t you at least wait until the surgery is done?

— No. I’m tired of waiting. I’ll read the documents to you myself and you can sign them.

He read and I cried. I cried not because of illness, not because of fear of death, but because of betrayal. He didn’t notice my tears, he just continued reading as if I didn’t exist anymore. With shaking hands, I signed the papers. He turned and left without saying goodbye.

But they say that in life you have to answer for everything. A few months later, something unexpected happened, I met my ex-husband again, and then the unthinkable happened 😢😢 Continued in the first comment šŸ‘‡šŸ‘‡

The operation was successful. I survived. I slowly began to recover: my hair grew back, my strength returned. I learned to live again – without a husband, without love, but with hope.

Months passed. I had already stopped thinking about him when one evening someone knocked on the door. A man in a wheelchair was sitting on the threshold. It was him.

It turned out that he had had an accident. His beloved had left him, just as she had once left me. He begged me to forgive him and take him back. His voice was trembling, his eyes were full of pain and despair.

And I stood looking at him. My heart was quiet and calm. I didn’t know what to answer.

After all, they say rightly: life is a boomerang.
