The young dance duo recently delighted the judges and audience of “Ukraine’s Got Talent.” The duo ALEMANA, consisting of Maria and Ivan, delivered an inspiring performance that deeply moved viewers. Their journey is a story of dedication, perseverance, and true love for dance.

Fifteen‑year‑old Maria Gnatik and Ivan Kondratyuk have Down syndrome, which greatly complicates the learning of dance routines. Their coach explains that most dancers pick up new steps in a few days, while Maria and Ivan sometimes need weeks of repetition to master a single movement.

Despite these challenges, their determination never wavered. For four years they trained tirelessly, continually striving for improvement. Their hard work paid off when they ranked among the top 100 at the International Dance Championships for Athletes with Disabilities. Although their duo performance did not earn a trophy, Maria’s talent shone through in the solo competition, where she finished third in hip‑hop. After nearly a decade of oriental dance, she has already won the European championship twice.

Their coach describes them as dedicated athletes who log countless hours both in the studio and at home. Participating in a major television production was a long‑held dream for both, one they approached with unwavering resolve. Their performance on “Ukraine’s Got Talent” received enthusiastic applause from the judges and overwhelming support from the audience, propelling them into the next round and giving them a chance at the “Most Talented” title.
Their story is proof of the power of perseverance and shows that passion and hard work can turn dreams into reality, regardless of obstacles.
