Marc was heading off once again on a “business trip” to Paris. And that’s when I had a revelation — I was going to go with him. But not just go — I wanted to surprise him.
I bought a ticket for the same flight, imagining the delighted smile on his face when he saw me at the airport.
But that surprise destroyed my marriage.
At the airport, I saw my husband near the boarding gate. He was about to turn around, see me and…
But he didn’t turn around. Because just then, a young woman in an elegant red dress appeared at his side. She pressed against him, and he leaned in to whisper something in her ear. They laughed, and I stood there frozen, just a few steps away.
I couldn’t believe my eyes.
— Marc, — I called.
He turned suddenly. His smile vanished.
— Oh, God… — he muttered, quickly stepping away from the woman. — What are you doing here?
— I wanted to surprise you, darling.
The woman frowned, glancing back and forth between us.
— Honey, who is she? — she asked, clearly expecting an explanation.
Marc clenched his fists, shot me a cold look, and said one word:
— Nobody.
Everything inside me froze.
I could have turned around and walked away. Cried. But… I decided to get revenge, and I don’t regret it.
I didn’t buy that ticket to give up.
I boarded calmly and sat a few rows behind Marc and his “girlfriend.” They didn’t notice me. Too busy laughing, whispering, drinking champagne.
And I… was preparing my plan.
Mid-flight, I approached a flight attendant. I explained the situation. She looked at me with interest, then smiled.
— I think we can make your flight… unforgettable, ma’am.
We wrote a note:
Dear Marc,
Since I’m “nobody,” I decided to do something useful. When you land in Paris, your bank cards will be frozen, your luggage confiscated, and your “girlfriend” will learn her ticket is one-way only.
Oh, and don’t bother coming home. Your stuff is already on the doorstep.

The flight attendant handed Marc the note with a smile.
I watched from afar.
At first he frowned, then turned pale. He clutched the note. His companion read over his shoulder, then pulled away sharply. Whispers turned into arguments. Marc started scanning the cabin for me, but I stayed hidden.
Upon landing, I exited the plane slowly, leaving him to face the consequences.
Outside, I saw his girlfriend glaring at her phone. Marc was rushing between terminals trying to withdraw money — but his cards no longer worked.
And me? I got into a taxi and went to my luxury hotel… paid with his money.
I spent a beautiful week in Paris.
When I returned home, I filed for divorce.
And Marc? Last I heard, his “girlfriend” dumped him as soon as the money disappeared. And he’s still trying to dig himself out of debt.
