Three spoons and my laundry is white again, just like 10 years ago: a simple trick

RECIPE

With regular use of bleach, fabric can become fragile and tear easily. Boiling laundry can also be a hassle. You need a large pot that fits on the stove and can hold all the clothes. Plus, boiling takes several hours, and many people just don’t have that kind of time.

However, I have a simple and safe method for washing light-colored laundry. It can be used often and doesn’t damage the fabric.

Here’s the recipe I use:

  1. Pour into 2 liters of warm water: 2 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide and 1 tablespoon of ammonia.

  2. If the laundry is very yellow, you can add 1 tablespoon of detergent.

  3. Soak the laundry in the solution and leave it overnight.

  4. Important: ammonia has a strong odor. It’s best to cover the basin with plastic wrap.

  5. In the morning, wring out the clothes, rinse once, and put them in the washing machine on a regular cycle.

Another tip: the best temperature is 40 °C. Don’t set the spin speed higher than 800 rpm.
Thanks to this clever method, clothes don’t wrinkle much and are easier to iron.

One more important tip: when washing whites, add 1 tablespoon of table salt directly into the drum.

Your white laundry will never turn gray again!
