“One photo 📸 — and the internet already called me ‘Zombie Barbie’”

Dalia Naeem, a 29-year-old woman from Baghdad, went viral on the internet after radically changing her appearance to look like a living Barbie doll. However, after 43 plastic surgeries, she receives not only praise — some call her “Zombie Barbie” or “ruined doll.”

Dalia’s transformation into the famous blonde doll involves a long list of procedures: extreme lip fillers, numerous face and body surgeries. With her platinum blonde hair and heavily accentuated features, she committed to shaping her ideal self-image. Still, many do not find her transformation beautiful.

In a recently uploaded video, Dalia proudly showed off her new look with her makeup artist. Her team was thrilled, but public reactions were mixed. Some find her beautiful, others say she looks “unnatural” or even “scary.”

Despite the criticism, Dalia’s popularity has exploded. She now has nearly a million followers on Instagram and tens of thousands on TikTok. Her striking appearance — and the controversy around it — draws even more attention.

In the video, her makeup artist says to her, “You’re beautiful, darling.” Dalia humorously replies, “Your makeup is Barbie,” indicating how seriously she takes her transformation.

As an Iraqi actress and presenter, she was already known, currently living in Baghdad’s Adhamiyah district, and openly talks about the changes in her appearance over the years. Before/after photos have shocked many.

Her radical transformation raises questions about beauty standards, personal freedom, and the line between change and obsession. For some, it’s a symbol of freedom of expression; for others, a cause for concern over extremes.
