I have a wonderful neighbor – a true treasure trove of practical wisdom! My wife always goes straight to him. And of course – his advice always works! Last year he literally saved us from an ant invasion that suddenly appeared and took over the kitchen cabinet within days.

Now I’ll share some simple and effective DIY tips from our neighbor. How to easily remove limescale from a kettle? A plastic vegetable strainer can help!

Limescale in the kettle is the enemy of cleanliness and taste. But there’s a quick method to get rid of it without boiling vinegar, which stinks up the whole kitchen. Preheat the kettle with hot water. Pour in half a cup of 9% vinegar. Take a plastic vegetable strainer and scrub the sides.

The limescale literally disappears before your eyes! Is your favorite wool sweater starting to look worn out? Grab a new dish sponge! Lay the sweater flat on a surface. Gently scrub the problem areas with the rough side of the sponge. The fuzz vanishes instantly, and the sweater looks as good as new! Guests coming over and a mountain of dirty dishes? Here’s a trick!

Clean the drain. Add 2 tablespoons of dish soap. Pour hot water over it: the thick foam will cover the mess. Salt against ants — cheap and effective defense!
