A little time and creativity can turn simple objects into beautiful garden decorations.
Start by choosing a suitable spot in your garden, preferably on level ground, to ensure the structure’s stability.
Compress some damp sand to create a solid base. Then, take an umbrella without the handle and turn it upside down—this will be the base of your project.

How to turn an umbrella into a garden decoration
Mix cement and water to create a liquid paste. Don’t add sand at this stage! Pour the mixture onto the umbrella dome, spread it evenly, and let it harden.
When the base becomes moderately firm, make a hole in the center of the umbrella and insert a PVC pipe to reinforce the structure.
Place a metal mesh over the umbrella to reinforce it and prevent cracks.
Create a strong and durable garden decoration
Prepare a thicker cement and sand mix (1:2 ratio) and spread it over the metal mesh. Smooth the surface and leave it to dry for 24 hours.
While the umbrella base is drying, prepare the base: place the PVC pipe in a pre-oiled plastic bowl and fill it with the same cement and sand mixture. For added reinforcement, you can add bricks or metal.

Assembling the garden decoration structure
Once both parts are completely dry, carefully remove them from the molds. Use mortar to attach the umbrella to the base and let it fully harden.
Now it’s time to customize your creation! Apply a primer, then paint it in your chosen color to match your garden perfectly. Once the paint dries, apply a protective varnish to ensure longevity.

Final result
The finished product can serve as a beautiful planter for your plants: fill it with soil and plant your favorite flowers. In this way, you’ll create a unique, handmade garden decoration that will beautify your outdoor space!
