On November 19, 1997, Bobby and Kenny McCaughey made headlines after Kenny gave birth to seven children in one day: four boys and three girls.

This medical marvel garnered worldwide attention because no one had ever given birth to so many children at once, and most importantly, all seven children were born healthy. After the birth of their first daughter, Michaela, Kenny struggled to conceive, so they turned to IVF. In medicine, we know about twins and triplets, but no one had been as fortunate as Kenny. She gave birth nine weeks early, and each child weighed around 1 kilogram. There were complications, with Nathan and Alexis experiencing developmental delays. They were diagnosed with cerebral palsy, and both had to undergo several surgeries. The family received help from all over the world. A charity provided them with an apartment where each child had their own room. They also received free education and meals. Even George W. Bush visited them.
Oprah Winfrey also could not ignore the McCaughey family. However, the family withdrew from public life when the children turned ten.

How Has Life Turned Out for the Seven Children 25 Years Later?
Kenny Jr. – Wants to become an architect and is attending the University of Des Moines, aspiring to become a trained architect. His birth weight was around 1.5 kg.
Alexis May – Would like to become a great preschool teacher. After several surgeries, she can now move her legs without assistance. She attends the same university as her brother, Kenny, but in a different department.
Kelsey Ann – A future pop star! She was born weighing less than 1 kg but has a strong and beautiful voice. She is now studying at Hannibal-Lagrange University.
Natalie Sue – Wants to be a teacher. Natalie grew into a very smart and diligent young woman, even making it onto the top graduates list. She is attending Hannibal-Lagrange University with her brother.

Nathan Roy – Future IT specialist. Nathan, like his sister Alexis, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy but can now move freely thanks to the surgeries. He is attending the same university as his siblings but is studying computer science.
Brandon James – Serves in the army. Brandon was the only child who chose the army over college. He is now serving as an infantryman.
Joel Steven – Wants to become a programmer. Joel Steven was the last to be born, weighing 975 grams. He is now studying computer science at Hannibal-Lagrange University.

The parents say that it’s hard for them to get used to their house, once filled with children, gradually emptying, but they are happy that their children are following their dreams and succeeding in life.
