Pierce Brosnan always supports his wife: in his marriage to Keely

LIFE STORIES

There are many couples in Hollywood whose relationships don’t stand the test of time. I imagine it must be difficult to live under the spotlight, with the world and your wife documenting every one of your moves, not to mention the criticism on social media. Pierce Brosnan is known for playing the ultimate seducer on screen and acting alongside many beautiful A-list actresses. He is often described as a real-life Casanova. But behind the scenes, he’s the exemplary father and dedicated husband. The relationship that Bond star Pierce Brosnan has with his wife, journalist, author, and TV presenter Keely Shaye Smith, is one that we all could aspire to. After more than a quarter of a century together, this passionate duo still has eyes only for each other.

Their marriage proves that true love never dies, despite fame, age, and all the physical changes that come with it. Pierce and Keely have been best friends, partners, and lovers for almost 30 years. The couple started dating in 1994 and married seven years after meeting in a bar in Mexico. Keely and Pierce met when she was sent to interview Ted Danson but instead teamed up with Pierce. Their first date seems like something out of a romantic movie. According to Keely: “We sat under the stars, and he took my hand.

The fireworks exploded above our heads, and Kenny Loggins sang. We chatted until 3 in the morning.” “He was fascinating,” Keely said to People in 2001, according to PopSugar. “Tall, dark, and handsome, everything that instantly attracts anyone. He had that mischievous gleam in his eyes. I thought, ‘Wow! Incredible!’” Pierce knew immediately that Keely was special. “I love her vitality, her passion. She has that strength without which I couldn’t live. When Keely looks at me, I feel weak,” he stated. Pierce and Keely married romantically in Ireland in 2001.

The original plan was for the couple to marry in 2000, but Pierce’s 16-year-old son was involved in a car accident in the United States. As a result, he suffered a spinal injury, and his father postponed the wedding ceremony. However, Pierce and Keely ultimately celebrated their dream wedding at Ashford Castle, a magnificent 13th-century Irish fortress. The couple invited 120 close friends and family to this fairytale hotel, but Pierce also funded an intensive security operation to keep the media and the public at bay.
